4 Law Enforcement Track
Begins Monday, October 15 at 8:30 a.m., at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Wichita, at 1010 N. Kansas, Wichita, Kan. All Law Enforcement disciplines participating in this track should report to class on October 15 before 8:30 a.m.
The first half-day session, 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m., October 15, will cover the roles and responsibilities of response personnel; incident recognition and assessment; management of an incident or threat; effective communications; application of NIMS and ICS to a law enforcement scenario; recognition of explosive devices and threat elimination. Classroom session will be followed by discipline-specific training in the afternoon at the School of Medicine.
4a Special Weapons & Tactics (SWAT)
Prepares tactical team members to safely operate in the dangerous conditions surrounding response to a terrorist incident.
Phase I
SWAT team members will participate in classroom instruction October 15, 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m., and in skill stations that afternoon, at the KU School of Medicine, Wichita campus, 1010 N. Kansas, Wichita, Kan.
SWAT team members will be advised of location and date and time to report for their practical team operations training, either October 16 or October 17.
Phase II
Deployment to the full-scale mass casualty simulation will start on the morning of October 19 and finish before noon, October 21. Execution will involve 12- to 24-hour shifts. Participants will also be advised of location of collapse sites and dates and times to report for duty on the first day of training on October 15.
Note. Participation in this track is limited. There is no fee to register. Participants must complete and submit the registration form.
4b Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD)
Prepares EOD team members to safely operate in the dangerous environments inherent in responding to an actual terrorist incident.
Phase I
EOD team members will participate in classroom instruction October 15, 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m., and in skill stations that afternoon, at the KU School of Medicine, Wichita campus, 1010 N. Kansas, Wichita, Kan.
EOD team members will be advised of location and date and time to report for their practical team operations training either October 16 or October 17.

4c Law Enforcement Officers
Prepares frontline and supervisory law enforcement officers to manage mass casualty disasters.
Phase I
Law Enforcement Officers (frontline and supervisory) will participate in classroom instruction October 15, 8.30 a.m.–12.30 p.m., and in skill stations that afternoon, at the KU School of Medicine, Wichita campus, 1010 N. Kansas, Wichita, Kan.
Officers will be advised of location and date and time to report for their practical team operations training either October 16 or October 17.
Phase II
Deployment to the full-scale mass casualty/collapse structure simulation will start on the morning of October 19 and finish before noon, October 21. Participants will also be advised of location of and dates and times to report for duty to the simulation on the first day of training on October 15.
